Hydrotherapy
Hydrotherapy is a form of treatment or exercise rehabilitation in warm water. It has been widely accepted as an essential part of rehabilitation. Hydrotherapy can be used alone or with other forms of patient rehabilitation, such as in-room physiotherapy, osteopathy, pilates, myotherapy, and massage. Our team of qualified and experienced Physiotherapists can design and manage a personalised hydrotherapy program to suit your specific needs.
Hydrotherapy can be helpful in a multitude of ways, including when:
- Weight-bearing land-based exercises cause pain, such as arthritis or chronic lower back pain.
- Progress with land-based rehabilitation is slow, such as in joint replacements and complex fracture cases.
- Independent movement on land is too difficult, such as in patients with weight-bearing restrictions (fractures) and falls.
- In musculoskeletal problems, swelling is present, such as post-ankle fracture or knee replacement.
- For patients who have trouble managing daily musculoskeletal pain and need self-management strategies, including those with chronic lower back pain, fibromyalgia, and auto-immune diseases.
Hydrotherapy can treat most joints of the body, including problems with the shoulder, neck, back, hip, knee, and ankle.
Our experienced physiotherapists run all our hydrotherapy sessions, so please contact us for bookings. We accept WorkCover claims, Veterans Affairs and TAC claims, and private patients. If you have any further questions or want more information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
